STUART — A new apartment building on the west side of the railroad tracks and the face-lift of a building on Osceola Street are some of the changes coming to downtown. While many are eager for the developments, they have been bad news for others.
“I’m really actually excited about the possibilities. I think the economy in the city will do pretty well in the next several years,” City Manager Paul Nicoletti said.
Delray Beach-based New Urban Communities is building a 49-unit apartment building on the Triangle property — bound by Albany Avenue, Joan Jefferson Way and South Dixie Highway — and the new landlord of the Post Office Arcade is bringing in a restaurant and redoing the light-beige building with blue awnings.
