HAINES CITY | City commissioners on Tuesday night approved spending about $214,000 more for the Sixth Street Streetscape Project.
The project, which will now cost $1.5 million, starts on Hinson Avenue and extends south to Wood Avenue. It includes landscaping, new and improved sidewalks, and related road and drainage improvements.
The increase is because construction bids came in about $214,000 higher than the money allocated by the city and the Florida Department of Transportation.
