Consultants recommend initiatives for revitalizing downtown Tallahassee
Downtown Tallahassee, poised for a resurgence on several levels, can build on its current successes by maintaining that momentum and implementing six priority initiatives, consultants recommended this morning.
The downtown area has been the subject of “reconnaissance and strategic assessment” the past three months by the Montreal consulting firm LiveWorkLearnPlay Inc. The consultants presented their findings during a public meeting and discussion at City Hall.
“We are trying to get to a place where downtown is thriving,” said Richard Martz, one of the study team members in giving an overview of the report. He cited Tallahassee’s attributes as a center of government, education and important institutions, as well as its ability to draw visitors to a wide range of events.
