SARASOTA Fla. — Over the past several years major redevelopment projects have taken place along the MLK corridor. But now the effort to revitalize the area is getting another push.
“It was dilapidated, it was something that we knew we needed to change,” said Lorna Alston, the city of Sarasota’s Redevelopment Manager, who has been working on plans to transform the Newtown community.
“We’ll be widening the sidewalks, we’ll be putting in bus shelters, just an array of different things. We will be moving some light poles so it will be a more walk able community,” added Alston.
