City commissioners on Tuesday will consider paying for a 609-space parking garage to serve what they hope will be a revitalized beachside. But this is not going to be any ordinary parking garage, rather it will be framed by three-story sails.
It’s the next step of a mammoth effort to make Pompano Beach’s eastern edge more of a draw. Located about a block north of where Atlantic Boulevard meets the sea, plans call for 48,000 square feet of retail space — restaurants and shops — or it might be 38,000 feet of retail space and a hotel.
