LAKELAND | For decades, the home at 1068 Lake Hollingsworth Dr. has been a point of fascination for Lakeland residents and passers-by who can’t help but notice the jutting, steeply pitched roof and Tudor appointments that stand in vivid contrast to surrounding properties.
Like some mammoth, storybook cottage straight from the Cotswolds, the majestic structure overlooking Lake Hollingsworth has been home to some of Lakeland’s more prominent, even storied, inhabitants, most recently the late Robert Mozingo, former head of neurosurgery at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, and his late wife, Madelynne.
The home stood empty for the past few years, as the Mozingos’ daughter, Cathy Strollo, sought a new owner.
