Position Summary(Major Job Duties): As a member of the CPBCC’s leadership team, the Associate Director of Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the CPBCC’s advertising, earned media, social media and public relations activities, strategies, programs, and collateral for initiatives and events. This includes both internal and external marketing and communications for members and prospective members. The Associate Director will complete website updating, and sell advertising opportunities available on the websites. Active participation in the Chamber of Commerce functions and events is essential. This individual will be highly visible with the membership in order to uncover opportunities for potential new members, as well as to assess culture for appropriate events, programming and high member satisfaction levels.
Duties and Responsibilities(Which are not in any hierarchical order):
- Create, implement and measure the Chamber’s comprehensive marketing, communications, social media and public relations plan, enhancing the organization’s image and position within the marketplace.
- Serve as a member of the leadership team, working across all departments to understand business objectives and create communications strategies to support departmental goals.
- Develop a systematic approach to creating and delivering departmental updates for staff, members, and for the Board of Directors.
- Ensure all internal and external deadlines are met.
- Work in partnership with the Chamber’s Associate Director of Business Development to create and execute the Chamber’s Lead Generation Plan for new member sales and paid media, direct mail, and strategic partnerships.
- Provide overall strategic direction for the content and design of the Chamber’s website.
- Increase the Chamber’s online presence, including driving additional traffic, creating revenue streams and providing opportunities to engage and interact.
- Conduct research and consistently monitor the market to identify strategic partnership opportunities and to focus the organization on potential threats or competitive information.
- Demonstrate appropriate leadership, knowledge and written and oral communication skills to influence members, business leaders, and staff members.
- Develop and manage the Marketing Department’s operating budget.
- Utilize key metrics to measure and evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of all marketing programs and provide recommendations for future strategies.
- Negotiate and manage major media and marketing contracts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community influencers and key community and strategic partners.
- Produce, schedule and coordinate the production of all design and printed communications, including marketing materials, event signage and other collateral pieces.
- Write and edit content for the organization’s print publications, email newsletters and Web site.
- Coordinate advertising in the Chamber’s print publications and manage external advertising opportunities.
- Provide assistance with Chamber events including working on production and coordinating photography and video presentations.
- Coordinate media events including press conferences, television segments, and radio spots.
- Establish and publish timelines for communications/event projects and an editorial calendar extending 12-36 months.
- Maintain style, logo and brand guidelines.
- Maintain graphics and photograph files.
- Create messaging, letters, proposals, presentations and speeches to effectively communicate brand and technical details.
- Provide leadership and connectivity to the 5-year strategic plan for the Marketing Committee and other committees as needed.
- Photo and video shoots at events, then perform editing; to take photos; posts and distributes online.
