Downtown Boca: Allocated residential space nearly gone
If you want to build a place to live in downtown Boca Raton, act fast.
In a city where 469 residential units are under construction downtown and another 558 are due to begin building before the middle of next year, it looks like downtown Boca Raton is quickly running out of space for living rooms.
Eighty-eight percent of the existing residential development rights in the downtown as it’s currently defined have been given away.
With more residential proposals for Boca almost certain, it means the city will be facing decisions about changing the existing downtown mix between office, retail and residential, or applying to the state to expand the amount of square footage it can approve for building.
