Maximizing potential for Milton’s riverfront
Efforts to maximize the potential of downtown Milton and the entire western bank of the Blackwater River are headed to a new level.
The City of Milton in partnership with the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council has hired Peter J. Smith & Co., a consultant from Buffalo, N.Y., to develop a five-year master plan for the riverfront that will cover an area from Carpenter’s Park in the north to the south side of Bagdad on Blackwater Bay.
“The plan will be a near-term planning document that will provide direction for managing and developing recreation facilities, programs, infrastructure, resources and investment,” Milton City Manager Brian Watkins said.
