BOCA RATON —
Before approving a development that would add more than 4,000 new car trips daily to downtown Boca Raton, most of the City Council members offered this concession: Yes, Boca traffic can be frustrating.
Complaints that the area east of the 378-unit rental complex is already too congested are borne out in traffic counts in the 2012 Palm Beach County Historic Traffic Growth report.
Most roads in the report show flat or negative growth over the past few years. But the seasonal traffic on East Palmetto Park Road two blocks east of the just-approved Archstone Palmetto Park has grown an average of 11 percent every year since 2007.
