As of July 5, $100,000 is officially going toward the incoming baseball museum expansion in Avon Park. This amount was awarded by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board on June 24 on the contingency of a legal assessment by City Attorney Gerald Buhr.
According to the chairman of the Baseball Expansion Committee, Dr. Ronald Sevigny, the money will officially support the museum’s long stretch toward completion. The project will be at least $500,000, but the awarded funding only brings them 60% toward their goal.
It won’t be like a grant where the organization would directly receive the funding, but rather the CRA would allocate the money toward the museum’s expansion. The money has to be paid to the contractor working on the project.
