A county canvassing board has certified a vote to make the yet-to-be-built 4,500 home Minto Communities development Palm Beach County’s newest municipality, according to a statement released Monday by Minto Communities-Florida.
Residents within the Seminole Improvement District voted to create the City of Westlake and make it the county’s 39th municipality.
The 4,500-home Minto West community, approved by Palm Beach County Commissioners in 2014, has yet to be built, but the developer announced in April that it would petition for incorporation as Westlake.
