TEMPLE TERRACE — A proposal by longtime city dweller Roy Eriksson that could bring life back to the town’s stalemated redevelopment effort is music to the ears of the Temple Terrace City Council members and Mark Sharpe, director of the Tampa Innovation Alliance.
Eriksson, the founder and president of Eriksson Technologies, an expanding engineering and software design firm, received a preliminary thumbs up during a Jan. 5 council workshop on his bid to build the company’s headquarters on the south corner of Bullard Parkway and 56th Street in the 22-acre Downtown Temple Terrace redevelopment site.
His plans call for a 100,000 to 150,000 square-foot five-story building, including two levels of parking for 150 to 200 vehicles. In addition to office and research and development spaces, the structure would contain other areas for large and small meetings, along with a ground floor 10,000 square-foot coffee shop.
