STUART — The city is expected to move ahead with growing its redevelopment area, over the strong objection of Martin County.
“I think the main thing is to get over any inertia and get going with it, which is what the commission most likely will do,” Mayor Jeffrey Krauskopf said.
Preliminary vote on the redevelopment area expansion is Jan. 25, with final vote Feb. 5. Aside from Krauskopf, commissioners Troy McDonald and Tom Campenni and Vice Mayor Eula Clarke said they support the CRA growth. While Campenni said he’ll vote in favor of the item, McDonald and Clarke said they support the expansion but didn’t specify how they’ll vote. Commissioner Kelli Glass Leighton declined to comment.
