Job Description

Under the direction of the Village Manager, the Director of Planning & Economic Development is responsible for the administration, direction, and supervision of the overall operation of the Planning & Economic Development Department to ensure strategic growth of the built environment, protection of the natural environment, and adherence to the Village’s Code of Ordinances. Responsibilities include creating economic development programs and implementing strategies to promote the Village as a viable destination for potential businesses and supporting the vitality and retention of the Village’s current businesses. Work involves administration, interpretation, and enforcement of land development codes; regularly monitoring and improving Village policies related to land development and code compliance; coordinating site visits; assisting with research on economic conditions; supporting business growth; and providing outreach to help brand and market the Village as an economic destination.
