Under administrative direction, the CRA Coordinator performs highly responsible administrative support for the plans, projects, and programs for the Community Redevelopment Agency’s (CRA) community redevelopment areas and Downtown Development Board (DDB).

Duties and Responsibilities
- Essential Functions: — Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assists in the development of plans, programs, initiatives, projects, policies, procedures, and standards for the, Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) department, other City departments, and the Downtown Development Board (DDB) and implements them accordingly.
- Welcomes new businesses, not-for-profits, and other organizations/associations to the Downtown and North Greenwood areas, leading initial communication, tracking and setting up of introductory meetings with staff in advance of opening.
- Proactively develops relationships with storefront business operators, not-for-profits, and other organizations/stakeholder partners, being an advocate and conduit for information and issue resolution; develops and maintains close working relationships with other agencies and organizations, local governments, chambers of commerce, and existing businesses and industries to diversify and expand the City’s economy and tax base.
- Leads efforts to activate and fill storefronts including conducting targeted storefront recruitment; coordinates, manages, and administers the CRA and DDB’s business retention and expansion program and the administration of various incentive programs to encourage private sector investment and reduce vacancies.
- Assists with DDB Special Event grant inquiries, processing and presenting applications, continuously improving program and integration with City’s special events process, developing goals, objectives, and key performance indicators; identifies challenges to business retention and growth and develops strategies to overcome obstacles.
- Monitors, manages, interprets, and communicates changes to laws and regulations affecting business assistance, business development, and incentives administration.
- Provides and delivers technical assistance and community relations support for various economic, community development/redevelopment programs, and providers in an effort to create jobs, elevate tax bases, and improve the economic climate of the City.
- Solicits, compiles, and summarizes data from other service providers, organizations, and existing businesses concerning functional activities and issues related to the City’s business base and economic and redevelopment strategies.
- Develops, drafts, and maintains detailed information on sites and buildings in the community redevelopment areas and the DDB area; prepares reports to CRA, DDB, city, state, and federal agencies as required.
- In collaboration with other City departments, assist with the design, preparation, and delivery of marketing and communications programs, campaigns, and strategies to support activities for the CRA, and DDB; coordinates with various City departments to resolving issues and concerns related to the City’s business base.
- Prepares, drafts, edits, and makes presentations to the City Council, CRA Trustees, DDB, local agencies, neighborhood and business associations, and other organizations; gathers and compiles economic information on programs and initiatives fostered by the City; represents the City, CRA, and DDB at various County and State-wide meetings and events.
- Performs routine office work and other duties as assigned.
