Boca Raton’s Mizner Park will add some new amenities, as well as new security features after reports of damage to some items on public display.
The city’s Community Redevelopment Agency last week heard an update from Executive Director George S. Brown, who also serves as city manager, on the improvements planned for the shopping and entertainment district. City staff, he said, are in the process of “refreshing” Mizner Park and other downtown areas.
The CRA, Brown said, is moving forward with installing water bottle filling stations that will also include “dog fountains” where Mizner Park’s four-legged visitors can grab a drink. The city has contracted with a plumber to run a new potable water line and install the first station at the north end of the complex just east of the amphitheater. That station will be completed sometime in February.
Mizner Park will also receive new security cameras amidst some reports of damage to items in the area.
