The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is set to engage Fort Myers residents in shaping the future of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and surrounding areas through a series of public workshops.
The first of three sessions will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Quality Life Center of Southwest Florida, located at 3210 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The goal is to gather community input on redevelopment priorities for the Dr. MLK Jr. corridor. This initiative is part of the CRA’s efforts to update its development plan, which has not been revised since 2018.
Michele Hylton-Terry, executive director of the Fort Myers CRA, emphasized the importance of public participation.
“We are asking residents for their input to help prioritize what matters most to our community and local businesses,” Hylton-Terry said. “Similar to our Cleveland Avenue plan sessions, this process will ensure that the redevelopment reflects the needs and desires of those who live and work here.”
