A $5 million project called South Monroe Walls, or “SoMo Walls,” is slated to transform nearly 2.3 acres within a city block off South Monroe Street between Oakland Avenue and Harrison Street.
Early plans call for renovating 33,000 square feet of commercial space, home to Bahn Thai restaurant and The New You Fitness Studio. In addition, a new 5,995-square-foot building and infrastructure improvements to driveways and utility lines are proposed, permit materials indicate.
