Coordinators behind three of Tallahassee’s largest upcoming festivals are all keeping close watch as cases of the coronavirus increase in Florida and around the nation.
The 52nd Annual Springtime Tallahassee is scheduled for March 27 and 28 and has been cancelled only once in its history when the two-day event was rained out two years ago. Next month, Word of South and LeMoyne’s Chain of Parks Art Festival are planned.
Yet the spread of the potentially deadly virus is putting a cloud over events attracting large crowds, including conventions and festivals nationwide.
Springtime Tallahassee executive director Jennifer Shafer said the organization’s executive team met Monday night and crafted a tentative “action plan” that includes meeting with city officials for input.
