Code Compliance Officer I – City of Destin

Performs duties of a Code Compliance Officer within the Code Compliance department, reporting to the Code Compliance Manager. The purpose of this position is the overall investigation, compliance, and enforcement of the City’s laws, regulations, and ordinances governing land use, building, zoning, signs, and related issues. This position will include both office and field responsibilities in the investigation of complaints and enforcement of the City’s laws, regulations, and ordinances during both typical business hours and atypical business hours, including evening and weekend shift work. Work is routinely performed independently and requires regular use of technical judgement and discretion in determining compliance and enforcement. Work shift includes requirement for night and weekend compliance.
