Such drama from Ann Pierce. Her editorial about Midtown and comprehensive planning for the City of Fort Myers is filled with half-truths meant to scare our citizens into believing that growth is detrimental to our community.
Pierce believes herself to be an expert in city planning. She represents a small faction of citizens, “Our Town,” who are interested in controlling growth in the City of Fort Myers. We all love our city’s historic charm, but limiting growth unfortunately also limits economic development and ultimately limits the City’s ability to provide the amenities we all want: Expanded public safety, parking, recreation and parks, public art and more.
