Redevelopment is set for a prime downtown location on College Avenue that may include a rooftop terrace overlooking the Florida State University campus.
Real estate investors and developers Mike Steiner and Matt McHaffie are restoring a building at 107 W. College Ave. with the hopes of creating a signature mixed-use development. Steiner works for Coldwell Banker Commercial, Hartung and Noblin. McHaffie represents GBGH Construction.
In February 2014, the body of FSU student Ryan Uhre was found in the College Avenue building, after what police ruled was an accidental death. Police said Uhre climbed through a second-story window and fell after partying at a nearby bar during the Super Bowl. The location is the same building Steiner and McHaffie plan to redevelop.
