PORT ORANGE — Wayne Clark left his longtime post as community development director for the City of Port Orange in November after accepting a similar job in Asheville, North Carolina.

Two months later, Clark has returned to his old position at Port Orange and he brings with him some new experiences — as well as answers as to why it was such a quick stay.

Clark recently spoke with The News-Journal.

What made you decide to leave Asheville?

There were a combination of professional and personal factors involved in the decision. At the time I decided to take the job in Asheville in late September, Port Orange was still experiencing leadership changes that had gone on for a couple years.
