Boynton Beach will be able to tackle three items on its Heart of Boynton redevelopment to-do list with the help of money from the county Solid Waste Authority, as long as all necessary boards sign off.
The SWA offers grants for blighted and distressed properties and their cleanup and beautification, and earlier this month the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency staff learned their application was chosen as one of the recipients.
About $62,000 will be given to the CRA to: demolish a 1,072-square-foot, 1970 building on North Seacrest Boulevard to make way for the expansion of Sara Sims Park; clean up the neighborhood and demolish another building at Northeast Fourth and Fifth avenues; and make facade improvements at the city’s 6.3-acre public works site on Northeast Ninth Avenue.
