DUNEDIN — It has been a long time coming.
But now, after the commission’s unanimous first reading approval of a $15 million development Feb. 4, the long-discussed downtown parking plight is finally being addressed.
Though official approval of the mixed-use development plans and a parking lease agreement is pending a second vote by commissioners set for March 3, the addition of more than 200 new downtown parking spaces seems to be a done deal.
The proposed four-story Artisan Apartment Homes development, which will include apartments, retail shops and public garage and street parking spaces to be leased by the city, will be at the corner of Monroe Street and Douglas Avenue.
