If City Hall is the heart of Lake Worth, then historic downtown is the city’s artistic soul.
Through the years, the look, vibe and feel of Lake and Lucerne avenues, the main downtown streets, has changed, as many neighborhoods often do.
Today, downtown is filled with art galleries, restaurants, vintage shops, jewelry stores, boutiques, while boasting a decidedly funky energy. Twice a month, Evening on the Avenue transforms Lake Avenue into a giant block party. In February, thousands turn out for the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival, where artists use chalk to turn pavement into canvas. Food trucks invade the Cultural Plaza the second Monday each month.
