BARTOW — If you’re headed to any county office around the courthouse in Bartow on Monday or any other day between then and next August, expect parking to be harder to find.
The parking crunch will be caused by the start of construction on a new $8 million, 679-space parking garage in what is now a 180-space public parking lot across the street from the courthouse.
The courthouse lot contains the bulk of the handicapped parking spaces. Most of the handicapped spaces will be relocated to the parking lot on the north side of the Neil Combee County Administration Building. County workers have extended the sidewalk on east side of the county building to allow access to the courthouse.
