Before a project is even close to coming out of the ground, there tends to be technical amendments that need to occur if the development doesn’t fit in with what the land is designated for.
Boynton Beach staff says it can turn the developer away, in search of a place that has “on the ground” zoning, which means the zoning desired is already in place.
To help with that and attract developers, the city and the Community Redevelopment Agency came together to initiate the zoning and future land-use changes themselves to match what they hope will someday be developed.
