Estero wants a village center, more walkability and mixed use, and a proposed development in the heart of the village could make some of those wishes come true.
At Tuesday evening’s Planning and Zoning Board meeting, residents and board members were presented with an update to a project called Via Coconut Urban Place, a proposed mixed-use development that would consist of 297 residential units and 30,000 square feet of commercial space and sit on an 18.5-acre site on the southwest corner of Corkscrew Road and Via Coconut Point.
The Boca Raton-based developer, Focus Development Group, filed an application with Lee County for a comprehensive plan amendment and a rezoning from agricultural and community facility to mixed planned development in August 2014.
