DAYTONA BEACH — An oceanfront hotel and condominium project, which could be the biggest in the beachside’s history, probably won’t be opening its doors for at least another three years.
But those who’ve been watching to see when things will get moving on the $130 million venture should see some visible progress next month, when the developer expects to start construction of the complex’s six-floor parking garage on the northwest corner of State Road A1A and Oakridge Boulevard. The building permit application for that $6.9 million, 168,700-square-foot garage in the 500 block of A1A was submitted to the city late last week.
Work could also get underway soon on the east side of A1A on the foundations for the pair of 300-foot-tall towers planned to house 501 hotel rooms, 100 condos, street-level shops, meeting space, restaurants, pools and another 279 parking spaces.
