NEW YORK, May 19, 2015 – In keeping with its mission to encourage the continuing education of retail real estate professionals, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation has presented Thomas G. Bolen III with the Fiala Fellowship.
Launched in 2010, the Fiala Fellowship annually awards an outstanding professional under the age of 35 who demonstrates a commitment to retail real estate and has the potential to make a lasting contribution to the industry. The award was presented to Bolen for his continued commitment to advancing his knowledge and contributing to the industry. A first generation college student, Bolen received his master’s degree from Florida A&M University, where he was the first student to receive an ICSC scholarship and was an integral part of the ICSC scholarship campaign to endow that scholarship.
With the support of Crossman & Company, Bolen has led the initiative to establish real estate programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, increasing the awareness, opportunities and potential for students to thrive in the retail real estate industry. Bolen plans to continue the positive momentum and expand the program’s reach within his year as the Fiala Fellow as his year-long project.
