If the median at the S-curve leading into Ocala’s downtown looks a little bare these days, that is because the Downtown Business Alliance and the city of Ocala are in the process of sprucing it up.
“The DBA and city have a joint beautification project there,” said DBA President Ted Schatt. “It is plants going in that will make it look a little more like the landscaping around the (downtown) square so it’s uniform.”
Schatt said that Andy Kesselring, a landscape architect and former city councilman and county commissioner, drew up a landscape design for the median.
“From what I understand, I think the city may have taken that plan and modified it,” Kesselring said.
