At its meeting Wednesday, the board of the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority set its “not to exceed” tax rate at $2 per $1,000 of taxable value for properties in the specially-designated downtown taxing district. At its final budget hearing Sept. 30, it’s expected to maintain its current rate of $1. The special tax is on top of regular city taxes and other taxes.
Also at Wednesday’s meeting, the authority re-named Howard Pincus chair, Tim Harris vice-chair and executive director Raphael Clemente board secretary.
