Organization: Redevelopment Management Associates

Position Summary (Major Job Duties)
Responsible for providing project management services for clients of RMA including downtown redevelopment management, redevelopment incentives, Community Redevelopment Agency management, neighborhood redevelopment, housing projects, and horizontal and vertical construction projects. The Manager reports directly to the principals of RMA. RMA offices are located in Pompano Beach, downtown Miami and Delray Beach however Project Managers may work directly out of Client City Halls.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management includes the following responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage redevelopment plans for various projects; may be in charge of several projects at the same time; Must be highly organized and efficient
- Compile databases and relevant planning and economic information regarding housing, retail, industrial, and office development activity
- Assist private developers and business owners with site planning, zoning, platting, variances, incentives and other regulatory issues associated with redevelopment and economic development
- Provide grant management for RMA clients
- Write developer and builder requests for proposals for the purpose of disposing of CRA land for redevelopment
- Interact with community groups, residents, business owners to ensure the CRA projects are well communicated
- Prepares agenda items for presentation to CRA Board and Advisory Boards meetings and other groups such as the Economic Development Council
- Organize and analyze information and formulate recommendations to RMA
- Organize community forums, interact with community groups, residents, business owners to ensure the CRA projects are well communicated
- Prepare developer and tenant real estate packages, including Requests for Proposals that provide site information, demographics, photographs, surveys, environmental information, and more to use in attracting tenants and developers
Qualifications (Education, work experience, special requirements)
Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business, urban planning, finance, construction management or related field and/or have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the public/private sector in a progressive city in real estate development, planning, project management, economic development and/or any equivalent combination of training and experience. The candidate must have knowledge of intergovernmental operations and the redevelopment process. Being able to bridge between the private sector and public sector is critical. Must be a good public speaker and an excellent writer. Must be able to work with a team comprised of multiple disciplines. Affiliations or membership with trade associations exemplifying additional education is a plus, such as Florida Planning Association, Urban Land Institute, Florida Redevelopment Association, International Council of Shopping Centers, NAIOP, IEDC, or other related associations. Professional certification, a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Performs varied administrative responsibilities; usually under moderate direct supervision, allowing latitude for use of independent judgment. However, the position will require working with a team of professionals who take on their own assignments but also share assignments with one another. Composes a variety of correspondence, especially to the public. Establishes and maintains a variety of complex records and reports. Computes and compiles data. Sets up and maintains files. Schedules meetings. Observes conditions in the community, speaks with community leaders, takes photographs, and makes presentations before governmental committees, boards and community organizations.
