Program aims to revive Cape streetscape
CAPE CORAL –
Cape Coral leaders want to spruce up the south end of the city.
Tuesday evening, the Community Redevelopment Agency unveiled a new incentive program designed to fix some of the crumbling sidewalks and enhance the streetscape.
Leaders said the goal is to create more of a downtown feel.
We discovered the program’s success won’t happen unless business owners want to shell out their own cash.
In the South Cape, Backstreets Sports Bar owner Shelly Cranford told us the area is still yearning for an identity. She hoped city leaders could push forward plans to improve the downtown area and make it a destination.
