Kissimmee Main Street to Bring Back Food Trucks
The food trucks will be rolling in downtown Kissimmee again, and probably a lot sooner than originally planned. Last week’s first Flicks on the Bricks event, which included more than a dozen food trucks, was so successful that another food truck event is going to be scheduled for October or November, Kelly Trace, executive director of Kissimmee Main Street, said.
More than 900 people showed up for the event, and that was even under the threat of rain, Trace said. Most of the truck vendors ran out of food before the dining portion of the event was over at 8 p.m.
“People were asking us when the next food truck event is while they were waiting in line for their first dish,” she said. “December was the plan, but I don’t think we’re going to get away with that. We’re shooting for an October or November event.”
Trace said this was a good example of listening to what the community’s needs are.
“If they want food trucks, they’ll get them,” she said.
The Flicks on the Brick event, which included a movie following the dining, was just the latest success for Kissimmee Main Street.
