I suspect that you share many of my concerns about the outcome of the 2011 legislative session….so much of the reported information focused on the demise of growth management as you know. I personally have not been satisfied with the attention paid to the various tax initiatives that were floated, adopted, or drafted as potential constitutional referenda…the impact of further caps, proposed for non-homestead property, will be very disruptive to our state in ways most people cannot conceive or do not understand….….
Attached is an opinion piece I drafted for the Orlando Business Journal, published in May…entitled Tax Policy and the Current State Budget, I hope it will raise your sensitivity to the complications facing Florida both with its current and proposed property tax structure.
