A proposed agreement to sell City Lot 10 to a developer who wants to build a 12-story hotel there could be approved by the Gainesville City Commission as soon as Thursday.
For several months, the city has been negotiating with Horizon Hospitality Management Inc. regarding the sale of Lot 10, which is situated on Southwest First Avenue and Second Street, across from Loosey’s.
Negotiations over the last couple months have focused on hammering out a related agreement for the planned project’s use of parking spaces in the nearby Southwest Downtown Parking Garage, according to Erik Bredfeldt, the city’s economic development and innovation director.
