FORT WALTON BEACH — Bring up public parking in the downtown shopping district and you’re likely to get an earful.
Bottom line? Folks want more of it.
The city recently agreed to study the parking issue across the entire Community Redevelopment Agency footprint – something that hasn’t happened since 2007.
“A lot has happened in seven years,” City Planning Manager Stella Jones told the City Council on Tuesday.
The council approved spending up to $40,000 to contract with Niceville engineering firm AVCON to conduct an analysis of CRA parking – which includes downtown – and traffic control along Brooks Street and Perry Avenue.
