LEESBURG — A mini-wave of commercial development is continuing for Leesburg, bringing new businesses and major renovations of existing buildings along U.S. Highway 27 and near Lake Square Mall.
“In general, the economy is improving and we are seeing more development coming into Leesburg,” city spokesman Robert Sargent said. “We’re also seeing redevelopment of some vacant buildings, and that’s good to see.”
Developers have finished or are about to break ground on several new projects, while vacant properties are getting major makeovers and new tenants, he said.
