Daytona Beach Main Street could be year-round draw as beachside develops
DAYTONA BEACH — On Sunday evening, Barbara Hall’s sewing and alterations shop on Main Street was packed with bikers looking to buy Biketoberfest souvenirs and get their duds customized with commemorative patches.
The next morning — roughly 12 hours after the annual motorcycle rally came to a close — the store, Bulldog Leather, was nearly empty, as was much of the rest of Main Street.
That’s pretty much the story of Main Street for the 50 weeks of the year when there aren’t thousands of bikers in town for Biketoberfest and Bike Week, the area’s two largest motorcycle rallies.
