ORANGE PARK – County commissioners have approved a local company’s plans to redevelop a seven-acre site along Kingsley Avenue, and the project could set the tone for future construction up and down the busy thoroughfare that connects unincorporated Clay County with the town of Orange Park.
Initial plans call for Kings Tree apartments and the Kangaroo Express strip center – situated on the south side of Kingsley across from Orange Park Medical Center – to become Taylor Commons, a mixed-use project with an “urban feel” that would include 89 residential units, 60,300 square feet of retail/office space and a three-tier parking garage that would hold 178 cars.
Without public opposition, commissioners unanimously approved a rezoning application submitted by Louis L. Huntley Enterprises during a Board of County Commissioners meeting held Jan. 22.
