Three redevelopment projects are heading to the Coral Springs Community Redevelopment Agency board as part of an effort to upgrade key downtown properties along Sample Road and University Drive.
The CRA will consider up to $277,505.50 in Commercial Property Enhancement Grants for three projects:
- A $100,000 request from Alex Lee to renovate a 1978 strip plaza at 9891–9899 W. Sample Road, including a new facade, windows, HVAC, electrical work and paving. The $342,010 project is expected to take four months.
- A $100,000 request from Whiskey’s Florida 2 LLC to build out Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant and Bar at 3301 N. University Drive, converting a shell space into a 5,654-square-foot restaurant with outdoor seating. The $1.95 million project is expected to take six months.
- A request from Runyon’s owner Kevin O’Connor ranging from $13,602.50 to $77,505.50 for a new roof, awnings, landscaping and exterior paint at 9810 W. Sample Road. The project would take about three months.
Through the program, the CRA reimburses up to 50 percent of eligible costs after completion, with final award amounts determined by the board, which meets April 27 at 5:30 p.m.
