Kush Hospitality founder Matt Kuscher announced that the Kush burger and craft beer concept will reopen in Wynwood next summer after a four-year construction project, bringing the popular restaurant back to the neighborhood where it first built a loyal following.
The new Kush will open in a building the company purchased several years ago, giving the hospitality group long-term control of the property in a market where many restaurants face rising rents and redevelopment pressures. Kuscher said the goal is to recreate the atmosphere and success of the original Wynwood location.
The restaurant will feature a full liquor license, allowing for craft cocktails alongside the beer program. The menu will include “greatest hits” from Kush Hospitality’s various restaurants over the years.
The project is planned as a larger mixed-use destination that will include a bar, commercial space and residential components. The development will also include affordable housing supported by the Omni Community Redevelopment Agency as part of the broader redevelopment vision for the property.
For longtime fans, the reopening represents the return of one of Wynwood’s best-known burger and craft beer spots, with Kuscher saying the aim is to create a lasting Miami institution that could remain a neighborhood staple for decades.
