Construction is underway on a $400 million renovation of Camping World Stadium at 1 Citrus Bowl Place near Downtown Orlando, in the city’s West Lakes area adjacent to Parramore and Lake Lorna Doone Park. The project, funded entirely through Orange County’s Tourist Development Tax, represents the most extensive overhaul of the venue since its 2014 reconstruction and is scheduled for completion by summer 2027.
The renovation timeline aligns with preparations for the anticipated temporary relocation of the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2027 NFL season while their home stadium in Jacksonville undergoes renovations. The relocation remains subject to approval by NFL owners. Stadium operators and city officials have indicated that the facility must be prepared to host a full professional season should the move be authorized.
Separately, the City of Orlando has advanced plans to expand the boundaries of its Community Redevelopment Agency district surrounding the stadium. The proposed 47-acre expansion would allow the CRA to invest in infrastructure improvements beyond the stadium footprint, including deteriorating roads, inadequate sidewalks, and other public realm enhancements. The expansion has been approved by the Orlando City Council and will require additional approvals from the Orange County Board of County Commissioners before returning to the City Council for final adoption.
