The Lauderdale Lakes Community Redevelopment Agency purchased a 0.22-acre property with a deteriorated building that was later demolished to make way for a pocket park. The community recognized the opportunity to design this new space – now called Trailhead Park. The park offers diverse recreational activities and enhances the existing greenway trail network. Inspired by local youth, a mural was created to reflect the natural elements of the trail and the ongoing transformation of Lauderdale Lakes. What was once a blighted site has now become a lively gathering place that brings people and places together. Trailhead Park was recently adopted by the Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes. As part of the program, the Kiwanis Club will work in collaboration with the City of Lauderdale Lakes to maintain the park.
