At last Monday’s joint session meeting with the Avon Park Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Board and CRA Board, Avon Park City Councilwoman Berniece Taylor asked Public Works Director Jason Atkinson if $100,000 was enough for Mall beautification.
“I think everybody in this room would love to see that one-mile Mall be just outstanding like it was back in the 1970s, in the 1980s,” Taylor said.
Atkinson said that $100,000 won’t cover the entire Mall, but it will make some good impact at the entrances and “key spots.” He continued that they’re “really close” to where the one-mile Mall will be there property to where they can work on it without the State’s approval.
But in the meantime, he talked about landscaping and what can be done at the moment.
