Immokalee CRA to be represented at White House conference
Obama Administration officials will hear from Immokalee July 15th during a gathering of community leaders from around the nation.
Steve Hart, who coordinates public relations and marketing for the Immokalee Community Redevelopment District, has been invited to participate in the Community Leaders Briefing Series to talk about education, small business, the environment and health care among other topics.
“It’s an honor to be invited to the White House,” Hart said. “You can be sure the administration leaders will hear all about Immokalee and how it really is Florida in the 21st Century.”
Of course, the Obama Administration already knows something of Immokalee. U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis visited the community last year.
Hart’s co-founded Relevanza, Florida’s first social media and online solutions agency with Birgit Pauli-Haack, another long-time supporter of Immokalee’s transformation into a model of Florida’s future. The formation of Relevanza grew out of the pair’s work with the Immokalee CRA.
Hart said he will be live-blogging the day-long conference and posting to Twitter from @Relevanza and on the Relevanza website, which will also be carried on the Twitter stream on this page.
