The city of St. Petersburg is launching the 2017 cycle of its ‘South St. Petersburg CRA Grant Program’ to help support private investment in the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area (CRA). The CRA Grant Program was created in 2015 as part of the city’s innovative, 30-year revitalization plan for South St. Pete designed to help boost private investment in commercial and multifamily residential development in South St. Petersburg. The CRA is generally located between Fourth St. and 49th St., from Second Ave. N. to 30th Ave. S. Click here to see the CRA boundaries.
**Please note that legislation is being considered by the Florida Legislature, which if passed, would end the South St. Petersburg CRA Grant Program and others like it throughout the state. The city should know by May 5, 2017, if the legislation was approved and whether or not it can proceed with this or any future grant cycle.**
There are five programs where interested parties can apply, in three overall categories:
Business Development (~$400,000 recommended budget)
Commercial Site Improvement Grant and Application
Commercial Building Interior and Tenant Improvement Grant and Application
